How To Get Stains Out Of Eucalyptus Bed Sheets
When you invest in luxurious bedding, it’s critical to take care of the material, especially if it’s a less traditional fabric like our Eucalyptus Lyocell.
Life happens, though, and you may have the occasional spill or stain on your bedding. Unfortunately, Eucalyptus Lyocell bedding can get stained, as much as we’d love for it to be a stain resistant fabric. But, this guide is here to show you to to get stains out of eucalyptus bed sheets.
First things first, assess the stain. This will help you determine how difficult it is to remove. Does it look like it’s been there for a while? Did something just happen or spill? The sooner you catch it, the better.
For things that are light or easy -- maybe your overnight face mask got on your pillow case, or you drooled a little in your sleep (hey, it happens), this can just be washed as usual. Our Eucalyptus Bedding Collection is best washed on a cool water setting with the detergent of your choice. We do not recommend using bleach, though. Then, air/line dry or use a gentle machine dry setting if you prefer.
So, how can you remove other common stains from eucalyptus bed sheets? Let’s get started:
How To Remove Wine Stains
First, assess whether the wine spill is new. If it is, dab any excess wine up with paper towel. Then, follow up with plenty of salt over the stain. If you prefer another option, dishwashing detergent can also be applied to the stain to help lift it.
How To Remove Oil Stains
When it comes to oil stains, dish soap will be your best bet. The soap attracts the oil, and will help release the oil from the fibers of the material. This should sit for 30 to 45 minutes. Once this sits, rinse, and then wash as usual. If the stain persists, do not put this in the dryer! It will bake in the stain. Then, repeat the process. Once the stain is gone, you can proceed with drying.
How To Remove Makeup Stains
Makeup stains are all too common. Night out? Super tired? We totally understand...falling asleep in makeup happens. If you weren't able to remove every stitch of makeup, or you decided on a mid-day nap (good choice, by the way), and makeup got onto your bedding, don't stress!
When it comes to removing makeup stains, it’s important to consider the type of makeup you’ve used. Eye makeup remover, alcohol, or a makeup removing liquid (though not micellar water) will be helpful in releasing the stain. Then a stain spray/liquid or detergent can be applied and allowed to sit on the material before washing. In a pinch, we’ve heard a “magic eraser” sponge can also do the trick!
How To Remove Wax or Wax Stains
Wax stains from candles can be tough to get out of bed sheets. The first step is to let any pooled up or excess wax cool down. Place your sheets in the freezer, wait for the wax to harden, and simply peel it off. You can then wash the sheets as you normally would, or precede the washing process by spot treating the area (for a little extra insurance) with a stain bar, spray or liquid,
How To Remove Blood Stains
Blood stains are easier to get out the sooner you catch them. First, rinse the area in very cold water. Rub lightly with your hands to aid in lifting the spot. If it makes you more comfortable, use gloves or a stain brush or old toothbrush.
For older stains, a saline solution or rinse in salty water can help as well as dish soap.
If you've recently had a dental procedure (hello, wisdom teeth removal!) we suggest sleeping with a towel over your pillow case to avoid any potential bleeding on your pillow cases.
Conclusion
Be sure to take care when eating or drinking around your bed to keep the bedding protected. We know things happen, though, and hope these tips are helpful to keep your Sijo bedding looking fresh and brand new.
